Expectations for a strong growing (and selling) season were sky high for fertilizer and seed tender manufacturers entering this year. This was quite evident in a recent story by CropLife IRON editor Dan Jacobs.
Exclusively from Brehmer, the company offers the top-mounted orbital motor on the vertical auger on all overhead discharge tenders. Its design features a low center of gravity, allowing Brehmer to place the vertical auger’s orbital motor on top to prevent corrosion and reduce repair downtime. Brehmer tenders boast features such as filled-in tarp bows, a unique bearing design, reinforced corner gussets, EZ Slide gates, 304 stainless, and an unloading capacity of 3,500-4,000 pounds per minute.

The 980 Trailer Tender boasts a larger payload and steeper-sloped hoppers. The newest features include Kubota or Isuzu engine options, auger warning kit, Murphy panel, and hydraulic auger motor. These features offer increased torque and horsepower throughout, resulting in higher productivity, says the company.
The Doyle 32FT Trailer Tender was designed for efficiency and ease of operation, says the company. The unit’s modular design allows the company to customize the design to fit a customer’s needs. Whether users need up to four – 258 cubic feet bins, optional (eight) – 129 cubic feet bins, or any combination in between, the company can manufacture a unit to the customer’s specifications.
The KBH Corp.
Available in rear or optional side discharge, this two-compartment 31-foot trailer features the largest, steepest slope hoppers on the market, with a capacity of 1,065 cubic feet while maintaining a low center of gravity, says the company. The stainless-steel hopper frame and hoppers are bolted on. Stainless steel two-piece bolted motor couplers, stainless steel augers, bearings and shafts, hydraulic vibrators, hydraulic hopper and clean-out doors, reversible discharge augers with pressure check, and water-fitting auger clean-out, are all standard features. This 31-foot trailer features cast-iron suspension and stainless-steel rear fenders. Optional are wireless remote control, wireless electric tarps, and front stainless fenders.
The Hays 24-Ton Tender is manufactured in Camilla, GA, and is designed around specific customer needs to make it the most user-friendly tender on the market, according to the company. Both the 24-ton two- and three-compartment tenders also feature the well-known “Hays Standards,” including greater hopper slope and lower trailer weight. Safety and performance improvement are also continuously being implemented on all Hays equipment.
The 36-foot Charger II-FB semi-trailer is made of 304 stainless steel with an optional Cummins power pack and polished aluminum wheels. The Charger II semi-trailers have optional Cummins Tier 4 power units. Ray-Man also has a new truck mount tender capable of loading an aerial applicator.
Heartland AG Systems
The VPA1000 side discharge tender features the industry’s first variable position auger system, which can unload on both sides of the tender at rates of over 5,000 pounds per minute. In addition, operators can store the 22-foot auger on either side. This 28-ton unit also provides 50-degree slopes, self-cleaning bins, and product viewing windows.
The Quickveyor QV40 makes hauling seed and fertilizer easier, says the company. The unit has a 26-plus ton capacity. It features fast and clean off load. There are 15-plus options including four direction swinging discharge chute, pony motor, multiple compartments, and cleanout windows.
The SST933 integrated Stainless Steel D.O.T. Uni-Body Trailer is constructed of 304 stainless steel, allowing for lighter trailer weights and higher payloads. It’s designed with a capacity of 933 cubic feet (struck) of transport storage, with outputs of 7,000 pounds per minute. Poke holes are standard on all hoppers. A 12 X 30-foot 18-inch stainless steel belt conveyor provides for extra reach, and the rubber belt has a 210 ton-per-hour capacity.
Chandler Equipment Co.
Chandler’s SDT-MH 18 features a three-hopper design that gives the user a 575 cubic foot capacity tender, says the company. Each hopper has steeper sloped sides (50 degrees) and ends (43 degrees) for easier clean-out and enhanced feed of material. The feed gates are a larger 11-inches X 24-inches opening, which eliminates the need to climb on the unit for any cleanout purposes. Additionally, the discharge and belly auger transition mechanism has been redesigned for smoother material transfer and reduced material spill when disengaging the two augers. Standard features include hydraulic cleanout gates, 304 stainless steel auger/tube, and a single point grease bank for greasing all grease points at one location. Optional features include Vibco vibrators and Agri-Cover SRT2 tarp systems.
“The number of early orders that we have for the 2023 season is indicative of things being as busy as ever,” said Matt Hays, Hays LTI, prior to the season. “We are expanding our production capacity and chopping away at lead times to make sure our tenders are delivered on time and ready to go to work.”
With the growing season now well underway, ag retailers have been deploying the best fertilizer and seed tenders available on the market. From new features and enhancements to subtle changes and tweaks, manufacturers have emphasized ease of operation, safety, and efficiency in their latest equipment.
