The name “Umoja” (Swahili for Unity) reflects the core philosophy of Project Octagon: the unification of global technology with local expertise. While the term is primarily used for the flagship project in Kaabong, Uganda (Project PLASMA), it is applied to the Quartzsite node to signify its role in the “Federated Learning” mesh.

  • The Desert Twin: Node 3 provides the extreme-heat telemetry that is sent back to Node 2 (“The Brain”) in Canada.
